Magnificent Seven is the best TV show ever. The men who played the characters were excellent. I would love to see it back on TV with the original Actors, Eric, Micheal, Anthony, Dale, Ron, Andy and Rick. It wouldn't be the same without them. I watch my tapes every day. Love to see the esp. on DVD. Thanks Mr. Watson for giving us such a wonderful show.

Happy Birthday Mr. Watson,
May your day be as magnificent as the show you have spoiled sooo many of us with. Like Sandy, I watch a Western and immediately start stakin' out the mistakes. I want to thank you so much for sharing, my opinion, the best western ever done within the last 10 years. Have a great day Mr. Watson.

Happy Birthday Mr. John Watson. I want you to know that you have spoiled me totally on what a Western should be. Always comparing ones I watch either on TV or in a theatre, I find none compare to the magnificent show you gave to us a few years ago. The characters and the men who played them will forever be etched in my mind. The show was a wonderful masterpiece and to this day, when I watch my tapes, I still find it hard to believe the show was taken off. It offered so much and for that I do thank you. This show will remain with me for a very very long time.
I wish you the best today on your birthday and also I wish success for you in all that you do.
A loyal fan,
Sandy

Thanks for such a great site! I've only recently encountered the 7 (thanks to the Hallmark channel) and I'm totally hooked. Since I started watching in the middle of season 2 I've relied on the web to get me up to date and familiar with all of the things I missed from season one (hopefully Hallmark will keep airing the eps so I can eventually catch them all). This is by far one of the best sites out there.

It's me again, just wanted to drop in and tell everyone that a friend of mine recently got her internet taken away so I'm leaving a mark for her. So here she is. Hi all, I really like the show and the actors. It's what tv nowadays really needs. I would also like to say that I really like Andy, who is a great actor. And as my buddy Ace says, 'Brother's by heart, outlaws by nature, and peacekeepers by conscience.' Boy is that them, lol. Love the show and really wish it was still on. Here's Ace. Okay everyone, see even today it's still being watched and adored by many fans, so where have all the cowboys gone?? Hope to see everyone on screen soon. Long Live The Seven!!!

I'm not sure I've ever seen a show where not just one, but seven, characters have captivated people's imaginations in this way. It's a testimony to the many talents involved in the making of the show. The Magnificent Seven will live on in the minds and hearts of us all.

Magnificent 7 still holds a special place in my heart. I've made so many good friends through this show, and i never tire of watching it. I'm hoping the powers that be at ITV will air it again soon, i look in the TV magazine every week with my fingers crossed. There are so many people out there missing out on a great show because it doesn't get the airing it deserves. Ok, i'm done :O) Except to say once again, thanks to the cast and crew, John and Pen etc. etc. Thank You for giving us The Magnificent Seven and i always live in hope that there will be more in some shape or form. xx

I watch the show every Sat. night on Hallmark. And every time the beginning comes on with the promo shots and the music, I think "man, this show should have NEVER been taken off." It bothers me to no end that things got so complicated within CBS that we all had to lose this great show. Oh, for a made for TV movie or something--anything to see the guys back even for just an hour--or for the episodes to come out on DVD. As long as there are websites, I will be here--this is one show that I will never forget. Long live the seven--and as always, best wishes to all the actors and actresses who played in the series. You all live within our hearts!
Thanks to the gals who are redoing this site also. I know it'll get back to it's original "goodness" here soon. You've done a great job already.

I love this site and even though it's been what six years now. The show is still my favorite and is influencing a lot of my friends who have picked up watching it on Saturday nights. The comradarie of the cast is amazing and is unlike any other on television right now. I would love to see the entire series and outtakes and cast interviews put out on DVD for everyone's enjoyment. It would also be nice to see the entire cast back together, I don't know maybe a reunion show or a start over project, lol. I love the show, the cast, and crew. So I send hello's to John, Michael, Eric, Dale, Tony, Andy, Ron, Rick, Laurie, and Yosemite :) and thanks for creating such an amazing show that still astounds teenagers and grown ups alike to this day.

Michael Biehn in a NEW Western series on NBC?!
NBC will air a 2hr. TV pilot of The Legend of Butch Cassidy and Sundance Kid sometime this Oct or Nov. Michael is part of the cast. If the movie gets good responds, then it will become a series! They already have 13 episodes ready.
The reason that I don't know whether or not Biehn will be IN the series or not is because I don't know the role he plays. The character might die by the end of the 2hr movie or something. He plays Mike Cassidy.
You can help the show out by be part of NBC viewer survey. The survey take about 5 minutes to complete.
Here's the link
http://www2.rresults.com/1809998/index.cfm?s=3
So watch out for Michael Biehn on NBC in the next few weeks.

I love the show so much that just like so many others that I've myself written an episode. I love all the actors, they all protrayed their characters extremely well, and would love to see the show to come back not just for one episode, but for a whole season. I think that if they do come back that they should use some of the fans episodes, and even let some of the fans be on the show. Thanks for lasting for so long I've seen all of the episodes and my favorite so far have got to be "Lady Killers". Thought truely there is not a favorite character of mine I truely like Ron Pearlman. There could not be another man who could play that man as well as Mr. Pearlman did. Finally all I have to say is RIDE ON MAGNIFICENT SEVEN!!

Go to CDNOW.com and search for Mag7 on DVD. They imply that production companies are using their site to judge interest in various programs. So, while it is not currently available on DVD, you can ask to be notified when it is. A great enough response may attract the interest of the production company, and then we can have Mag7 at home every single day!!

I accidentally caught that last couple minutes of "America's Sweethearts" (mistake #1). Here's my question.
The film they're showing within the film is called "Time Over Time," and did I hear it wrong, or does the male lead (1) call the woman Sarah (2) tell her she's in danger (3) look like a crazy looney to her (4) tell her he's from the future (5) and then grabs her arm and walks her off?
If so...interesting spoof...still prefer Michael Biehn!

Hallmark is airing "Mag 7" on Saturdays, beginning at 11 pm EST. (I think it's 11.) They aired the pilot and "One Day Out West" on January 4 and will continue with "Working Girls" on January 25. (It might be on January 18, but don't bet on it.)
On a side note: if all goes as it's supposed to, Mr. Close will be on for three hours on Feb. 6. ABC airs the TV movie "NTSB: The Crash of Flight 323" (I think that's what it's called) at 8 pm. Then, as usual, "Without a Trace" at 10 pm on CBS. Sorry, no long hair or Texan drawls.

The Western Rides Again
The return of the TV western, in the form of ABC's upcoming Then Came Jones, HBO's Deadwood, and other shows may represent "an interesting extension of the post-9/11 development world," according to a leading industry analyst. Stacey Lynn Koerner of Initiative Media told today's (Friday) New York Post: "A lot of programming [since Sept. 11] has been very family-oriented... [Westerns] are a different kind of Americana and are a way to celebrate our heritage and our history. And westerns as a genre have a great ability to tell a story." A similar point was made by Baxter Black, who hosts the documentary John Wayne Made Me Cry: Our Western Heroes on Turner Classic Movies tonight. Black told USA Today: "Since Sept. 11, there's been a new recognition of the value of heroes... The heroes in this case are the same as cowboys -- good guys with noble motives who put themselves in harm's way to do good." >

Hi everyone,
Just wanted to say keep the faith and I'm sure that one day the series might return on day. Or at the least, if we all got together and started to write to MGM. To get the series put onto video or dvd. At least we could watch the seven, when ever we wanted. What a real shame that the networks won't bring back the series. It must be maddness, if the series don't get the ratings. Then it gets the axe.
But at least we can get the chance to see all the actors who have stared in the series, in other parts. So here's looking forward to the future.
Take care all

[Why did Magnificent Seven go off TNN? Is it coming back on in reruns?]
No idea why TNN dropped "Mag 7," but it could be anything from ratings to takeovers...it would be a little hard to show just 22 episodes over and over again. Most cable channels show primetime-syndicated series EVERY DAY...in one month, "Mag 7" would've been entirely finished. At one ep a week, maybe half a week. Ratings.
The other thing that sometimes happens is that another company takes over that channel. Then they start cuttin' the fat.... [SIGH]
Don't think that TNN will be showing reruns again.

Hey, this one is for "DC"-- thanks for the update on Pearlman's upcomers. He's going to be in a Star Trek?? LOL, that was a funny mental picture, considering I was "introduced" to him as Josiah. Thanks!

I think that this is the best show ever created on television and it is a true pity that it did not get the credit that it deserves. I wish great things for each and every one of the people that were apart of the show, especially the seven that we have all grown to love. Magnificent Seven Forever!!!!!!1

Sure, Jenny, Anthony Starke IS a great actor- that's why it's a real shame he's taking on such lame characters. (Oh, and he's one of my fav.s, too, but w/out the other 6, there wouldn't be THE SEVEN)

Hi all,
Just wanted to mention, that we all miss the Magnificent Seven Series. However if we at least want to get the series on to DVD or Video, please could everyone would consider writing to MGM. To put this request forward. The more request MGM get the better chance we of getting the series put on to DVD or Video.
Ok the recent comments about Anthony Starke in Angel, CSI and Charmed. Well my own personal opinion, I just think he's a great actor. He's the best out of the Seven.
Well thought I would add that comment.
Take care

In Angel, Anthony Starke played a drug dealer who had a fight with Angel's son when he returned from the hell dimension. In charmed he played a warlock who was stealing the powers of witches using a ring.

What if we the fans wrote to well known celb's, asked for their support, to bring to the series to the media attention. I know for example, Joh Bon Jovi is a big western fan, as he starred or wrote that song in Yong Guns. Hey it was just an idea.

Hi all,
Re: the DVDs, below is a link to the Amazon webpage where you can sign up to be notified when the TV movie "The Magnificent Seven" is released on DVD. Amazon pays attention to how many people request notification and passes the info on to the manufacturer, so to me this is the quickest way to get the boys on DVD. This is how we got Ken Burns' 'The Civil War' on DVD, too! (coming in Sept.)
So here's the link:

Hi, all!
If you go to www.Amazon.com and search for 'The Magnificent Seven', one of the three results you'll get is for the 1998 TV movie on DVD! It's not being produced currently, but if you put in your email address you can 'vote' for it to be produced, and Amazon will send the votes along to the studio so they'll know about the demand.
Here's the URL:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00005JLFZ/qid=1021312359/sr=1-3/ref=sr_1_3/102-5301626-0860105
or just search for 'The Magnificent Seven' and follow the links to the results on DVD. Maybe if MGM sees what a demand there is for the DVD they'll realize how popular the show still is, and who knows where that could lead! :)

This site is relly clever and well presented. But clearly if anyone wants the show to return with some new productions then please write to the networks. The show was cancelled due to low ratings. In the states all that matters is huge ratings and advertising. Mybe one suggestion is funding from another country. So viewing figures don't matter so much.
Anyway we will continue to still write to TV companies all over the world, just in case someone with any common sense decides to pour some much needed investment into the show.
It was just an idea.

Isn't it amazing how many people are still cherishing the show?
We Germans are real lucky that one of our TV stations is airing re-runs right now. Of course I'm taping them all so I'll be able to watch 'em over and over again.
Isn't it a shame that the guys in TV production land don't listen properly to what we are asking for?
I really would love to see the seven guys ride again in new eps. Guess, I'm not the only one. *g*

Meandering through the pablum that masquerades as programming on the networks currently, I find myself pining for the Magnificent Seven. Gritty, dashing, exciting, old-West morality -- hard to beat it. I wonder at times if the show suffered from all the romance in the second season. I prefer my action heroes to be foot-loose and fancy free, which makes it easy for me to romance them inside my head. And I sure could use a change of scenery -- all these crime investigative shows and sitcoms are starting to blend into each other.
Bring back the Seven!

It is a shame some of the TV bosses don't come and check out this brilliant website,if they did, then they would soon make some new shows.

I really enjoy Magnificent Seven, and would be a faithful viewer if the series should return. There is no other TV that I think is interesting enough to watch. Though I am going to watch the reruns on SCI-FI of Now and Again. If any new westerns showed up on TV I would probably watch.

As a teacher and mother I try to find positive outside influences for my kids. Magnificent seven WAS one of them. It's camradarie, sense of justice, interest in other cultures, and it's ideals in the "wild West" helped make it a well-rounded show for all. Hats off to the creators of this Magnificent show. I know that the fans would love a series or at least a movie now and then. It would be for the good of society! bg :)

It's been a long time since I've been here but I do check this at least once a month just to read what people have to say. I am still a fan, still watching my tapes, still reading the great fan fiction and still hoping for a "return of the Magnificent Seven" oh, and I still don't watch hardly any TV unless one of the guys is on. Just isn't anything on worth watching since the boys were taken off. I see it's been awhile since the guestbook has been signed so I guess I'll start off the new year. We all still love our "seven", there has never been a better bunch of people put together in one show as this one. I really miss seeing them all. But maybe someday.......

Howdy to all, and my compliments to John Watson!
Sir,
Sir, it is an absolute delight to know that you remember us. Even if the Mag Seven is not brought back to TV, as so many hope, it is so very heartening to know that our loyalty is noted and rewarded by your continuing kindness. Boy, but I'd have loved to been a fly on the wall, for the Mag Seven cast reunion at your house! If you ever care to tell us who was able to attend, I'm sure I'm not the only one who would love to know! It's wonderful to think that the talented and classy folks who comprised that cast had the opportunity to renew the friendships they made. You're a good man, Mr. Watson, with a rare gift for not only immense film-making talent, but also for maintaining that common touch. Thanks for remembering us!!
Well, fellow fans, hats off and three cheers for John Watson, eh? :-)
Salud!
Gloria M. Atwater
P.S.
As so many have asked... Will the episodes ever be offered for sale, uncut on video tape? One can always hope...

Thank you Mr. Watson and all the cast and crew of the Magnificent 7 for your great show. Next time I visit my grandparents (who live in Newhall) I plan to visit the melody ranch if I'm able to (not sure if it's open to visitors) so I can see the place where you all put out a great series. I just wish the tv execs had seen what the rest of us had seen. Please do try to come out with a reunion movie someday, me and thousands of others would be happy to see one. And one more thing can I be invited to the next mag 7 reunion? :) Just kidding. Happy Trails, a fellow possepard.

I just wanted to say that Magnificent 7 was a great show. It was something my sons and I could watch together. It showed that ordinary men, even those with a somewhat shady past, could bond together to form something powerful and good; that even heroes have less-than-perfect moments. I think the flow of creativity between the cast and crew was tremendous, and would have only gotten better. It was even more disheartening when TNN removed the show from their line-up as well. Here's hoping that we will at least get a reunion movie in the works one day, and I'm looking forward to new projects from everyone too! Till then, I have the eps I've taped, and a growing library of previous works from these wonderful actors... Bless you all!

Like the thousands of other mag 7 fans worldwide who truly miss and yearn for the return of this show, I'd like to thank John Watson for his continued interest. This show never got the time it deserved. A small hint to it's popularity is the HUGE following it receives in fanfiction. One site alone has over 1000 stories. This show should be brought back to network television and showcased on cable. It deserves a venue such as that, one where it could spread it's wings and fly. Television is sadly lacking in the classic western area and mag 7 was one of the best we were privileged to view. Great cast, direction, writing, cinetomography and esp. chemistry between the guys.
As a heavy contributor of fanfic for M7, I'm glad for my fellow writers who are keeping the series alive through print. We're all hoping that one day, some Network exec will come to her senses and let the boys ride again!

I geniunely miss the show as if it went off just yesterday. I have joined fans in Germany, Japan and Australia that love the guys and would just adore new shows. With the advent of so much reality shows to see such a great show like The Magnificent Seven would delight me to no end.No one could take the place of Chris Larabee AKA Michael Biehn or Eric Close AKA Vin Tanner. My imagination paints them in to all sorts of new episodes and how they would do. All the characters are missed and everytime I catch them on TV it brings memories of the show and wishes they would return. Long live The Magnificent Seven...Let'em Ride!

I loved the show and have tried to record the shows off tnn. I would love to see the encore western channel pick it up and maybe go after the idea of doing one or two reunion movies a year. A letter campaign to mgm to release more than just the pilot on video would be great also. thanks to the cast and crew of a great show and the effort to keep the western genre alive

I loved watching the Magnificent Seven series. I recieved the first episode on VHS for Christmas and watch it now and than. I would love to see them return to television. I am sure there are a lot more stories John Watson and the others could come up with. Even make a big screen movie staring all the tv series cast: Michael Bhien, Eric Close, Dale Midkiff, and the others. The Magnificent Seven taught myself and my friends a lot about loyalty and friendship. Hope to see some more, or even see the first and second season return to television. That would be Magnificent!! Thanks.

Mr. Watson:
It was wonderful to read your post and to know that you and the members of the cast and crew remember us as much as we remember you. I just watched the 1960s Magnificent Seven, followed by Ghosts of the Confederacy, and it was a real joy seeing all the nuances you picked up for the remake, while still making it fresh and original and purely wonderful. I enjoyed watching the show on TNN and hope it returns there after a breather.
I continue to have two dreams -- that the cast is reassembled for more episodes, or perhaps a followup movie, and that the episodes are released on video, so I can buy an uncut set, untroubled by commercials!

I am one of the biggest fans of The Magnificent Seven series. I was totally heartbroken when the series was ended. It is unfortunate that shows suchas The Magnificent Seven that are truly excellent are not given a chance to prove themselves. There are so many shows on television now that should never have been written but yet they remain on from season to season. Pax t.v. is airing a western series this fall. Hopefully, they will consider picking up The Magnificent Seven. Lets' all cross our fingers!

I've posted this already to The Posse list but for others: "Cowboys & Indians" magazine is polling its readers to determine the Top 100 Westerns whether they be a movie or a TV series . They have a list started from which you can select OR add your own choices! There's a contest with prizes to boot . If you don't get the magazine then you can go to: http://www.cowboysindians.com/trivia/filmsindex.html
Sooooooo Think there are enough Mag7 fans to get them up there?
Wouldn't hurt to try!

Just really enjoy this site. Still love the show and still need to tape a few. I have most. There just isn't anything to compare on T.V. right now for me. Maybe there is room for a Mag 7 reunion show. That would be great

I have loved Mag 7 since it first aired and when the Canadian station stopped airing them I was very disappointed. My friend then ( just recently) told me that it airs on TNN and now just to be on the safe side I tape every episode so I can watch it over and over again. I love all the guys but Ezra Standish ( Anthony Starke) is my favourite. Keep up the good work, I would hate to see such wonderful talent go to waste.
